Ex-Diageo executive leads European push for global consultancy

Sarah Essex appointed at Prophet

Prophet, one of the world's foremost branding and strategic marketing consultancies, has appointed Sarah Essex as senior partner at its London office to oversee Prophet’s European operations.

Prior to joining Prophet, Ms Essex was part of the European leadership team of Market2Customer®, the marketing division of the strategy consulting firm, Monitor Group. Before this she held senior positions at Diageo, first as e-business director and later as group strategist, where she led teams to develop Diageo’s global wine strategy and run a major acquisition process in the US.

Ms. Essex has worked extensively across Europe and the US. She lived in Amsterdam between 1995-2000 and in New York and California in 2001. In her new role at Prophet, she will oversee the business’s European operations. Prophet has four offices across Europe — London, Madrid, Hamburg and Zurich — and a further four worldwide.

Commenting on Ms Essex’s appointment, David Aaker, vice chairman of Prophet: “Sarah has focused on helping clients develop and implement superior marketing, brand and portfolio strategies to accelerate top- and bottom-line growth. She has worked for leading global companies in industries such as: brewing and alcoholic beverages, food and confectionery, automotive, consumer credit, construction materials, telecommunications, software, and services. This experience will be a real asset to Prophet and I’m delighted she’s joining us.”
